US Hydrotech Water Technologies
Washing vehicles, parts, equipment and machinery or using water in a manufacturing process generates water that must be captured and treated prior to reuse and eventually discharge to sewer systems. US HydroTech Environmental Solutions provides answers to businesses, industry or governmental operations in meeting local, state, and federal regulations for discharge of wash or process water.

Porta-Pad at Hertz Rent-A-Car in Cincinnati, OH
"In running a rental car branch it is of the up most importance to have the ability to properly clean vehicles. Our branch had recently relocated to an office space that did not have an environmentally friendly wash area which posed a huge issue for us. Another office in a different area of the US had referred us to look into a Porta-Pad. After hearing about the portability of this system and price of this system it was clear that it was worth a try. We recently received our pad and to say the least my office is overly pleased with it! When the pad arrived we were of the assumption it would be difficult to install, in actuality it was surprisingly simple. The system came with easy to read directions and overall it didn’t take me more than 25 minutes to set up. Since the pad has been in use at our branch has improved tenfold! The fact that the pad can be easily drained and moved is very convenient for us. Overall i would highly recommend this system to anyone. It’s environmentally safe, it’s portable and it is a no brainer to operate! I would highly recommend this to anyone not just people in the rental car industry!"

Porta-Pad Portable Containment System and Charity Car Wash
The Porta-Pad is perfect for Autobody shops, cars, trucks, airplanes, motor homes, buses ATV's, boats, decon stations, parts washing, spill containment, agricultural supply containment, porta-potty wash down and more!
Charity car washes are a great idea. The only problem is, again the wash water running to the storm drain. Every charity car wash could have a Porta-Pad system that would greatly reduce liability and save the environment while at the same time differentiating themselves from other car washes because they are actually taking into account the environment and not just the charity.
Right now is the perfect time to start thinking about a Porta-Pad for your business. When comparing the Porta-Pad cost vs. the cost (plus time) of driving a car to the car wash, the Porta-Pad comes out ahead every time.

Regional Water Quality Control Board not attending 2012 Sonoma County Fair?
This year, for reasons unknown, the Water Board decided not to participate and one has to ask the question why. There are a few concerning issues growing rapidly that can be directly dealt with by education. One such issues is Zebra and Quagga mussels infesting our waters and rapidly clogging up pipes. These mussels are easily transported from lake to lake by attaching themselves to the hulls of water crafts. The easiest and most effective way to stop this spread of invasive species is boat washing with a pressure washer and containment wash pad. Another concern is the high volumes of copper going to the bay that affect the fish and ecosystem. Copper dust from vehicle brake pads are a major concern to the ecosystem. Although it can't be contained effectivly when cars are on the road, it can be contained when washing cars by using a wash pad. The copper in the water prevents fish from locating spawning areas and as a result they die without spawning and reduce the fish population. A perfect solution to these two problems is the Porta-Pad by US Hydrotech which contains wash water and pumps it to a sanitary sewer location to be handled properly. There are plenty more solutions that are available that our communities would greatly benefit from knowing about. The Fair is the largest draw of people for the County so its a perfect venue for education outreach. Cost shouldn't be an issue either because the vendors that sponsor the booth, such as US Hydrotech for example, are the ones that pay for it.
The Water Board exists for education, and for no real reason, they has decided to pull out of one of the biggest opportunities for education and linking communication they have all year long thus preventing local businesses to partner with them in providing real solutions and ending up leaving Sonoma County residents high and dry.

Scale Blaster - Improving water flow efficiency

Scaling is a coating or precipitate deposited on surfaces that are in contact with hard water. When this hard water is heated or when evaporation takes place, calcium carbonate will form. Practically all equipment coming in contact with hard water will be affected by scale. This scale build up will clog up pipes, tubes; block jets and form a layer of mineral scale deposits in heat transfer surfaces. The result are billion-dollar problems for industry. Higher energy costs, serious maintenance problems and prolong damage to expensive capital equipment are all symptoms of scale build-up. Up until now, the only reliable solution is expensive chemical scale inhibiters, acid washes or water.
There are so many reasons to use a Scale Blaster - it eliminates limescale deposits from forming, removes existing scale in pipes, tubes, jets, and heat transfer, controls algae and bacteria, lowers energy consumption, reduces maintenance and downtime, extends the life of capitol equipment and its easy to install and operate.
The Scale Blaster is perfect for households or businesses and is a fantastic way to improve efficiency.

Solar Thermal Heating in 2012

As we move into the new year we think about how we can start it off right. One way is to think about ways we can conserve money in regards to our utility bills. Your PG&E bill is already high and there is no end in sight for the amount it could raise. Best nip it in the bud by installing solar thermal technology in your house which will greatly reduce your dependence on PG&E by creating self sustaining energy. Check into your local city government for rebate programs on Solar and you might just be surprised with what they have to offer.
